University of Zimbabwe College of Health Sciences – Clinical Trials Research Centre (UZCHS-CTRC) is seeking suitably trained, competent, talented, multi-task and qualified Research Nurse/Counsellor to take part in Clinical Research for the UZCHS-CTRC Project at Parirenyatwa Clinical Research Site (CRS).

UZCHS-CTRC is a Centre of Excellence at the University of Zimbabwe College of Health Sciences which implements high level HIV prevention and treatment research and collaborates with a broad range of partners internationally.

Responsibilities
Administering participant informed consent; Ensuring proper screening, enrolment and follow-up of study participants; Performing examinations of study participants; Collecting specimen on study participants according to Protocol guidelines; Contraceptive provision and counselling; Conducting HIV risk reduction counselling to participants; Provide additional counseling throughout the course of the study as needed; Prompt reporting of serious adverse events to the medical officer; Maintaining proper documentation of participant information; Any other duties as assigned by the Clinic Manager.

Qualifications
Degree in nursing or midwifery / Diploma in General Nursing/ Degree in Social Sciences; Certificate of systemic counselling from a recognized institution; Applicant must have a minimum of 3 years in reproductive health research; Experience of handling confidential patient records; Experience in discussing clinical and sometimes sensitive subjects with potential and actual participants, including HIV/STD transmission, sexual practices, and health history, is required; Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively to all community members; Excellent organizational skills, non-judgemental attitude and work with minimal supervision.
