The Council of Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (MUAST) invites applications to fill the position of Registrar. The Registrar will report to the Vice Chancellor and University Council. The Registrar position requires a highly organised and efficient professional with thorough knowledge of University administration, organisation, management, academic and non-academic support services.

Duties and Responsibilities

a ) Advisory role to the Vice: Chancellor, Chairman of.Council, stately and adhoc Committees in respect of the whole range of University activities;

b)Development and formulation of policy to enhance the University’s capacity to discharge its duties as a State National Institution of Higher Learning and support its mandate through the Strategic Plan and logical framework and

c) Coordinating student enrolment and student record keeping to maintain the UniverSity’s academic order.

Qualifications and Experience

a) Be a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Administration or Management or its equivalent and at least a relevant Master’s Degree together with a professional qualification such as Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA); Chartered Institute   (CIA) and Institute of People Management of Zimbabwe (IPMZ); Possession of an earned PhD is an added advantage;

b) Have at least ten years’ experience at different levels of management, preferably in a University or public sector organisation; c) Be self-motivated, dedicated and highly responsible, with a demonstrable ability to communicate readily and effectively at all levels which a wide variety of people of different backgrounds, ages and beliefs, both within and outside the University and outside;d ) Have knowledge and understanding of the academic business of the University; e) Be highly competent in relevant Information Management Systems and f) Be a highly credible and mature person who has an outstanding reputation.

Conditions of Service The University is offering a competitive remuneration package which includes a motor chicle, contributory pension and medical aid schemes, a performance bonus and biennial ontact leave. This post is a contract appointment for a period of up to four years and renewable subject to policies of the Institution.
