Qualifications

Registered General Nurse with a Diploma or Degree in General Nursing
-
5 Ordinary Level passes including English Language
-
Post-basic qualification in Midwifery and/or Psychiatry (an added advantage)
-
Registered with the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe
-
In possession of a valid practising certificate
-
Forensic training for dispensing (an added advantage)
-
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Registered General Nurse
Duties and Responsibilities
-
Patient consultation, examination, diagnosis, and treatment (assisted by University Doctors as necessary)
-
Dispensing medicines, patient counselling, compiling statistics, and emergency response
-
Ensuring compliance with effective infection prevention and control systems
-
Providing holistic nursing care to meet patients’ physical, psychological, and social needs
-
Maintaining confidential, detailed, and accurate records of patients’ conditions, diagnoses, and therapeutic interventions
-
Ensuring clients gain access to required services and that care is well coordinated (e.g., proper referral system)
-
Attending student trips, sports events, and other University events as health/emergency personnel
-
Performing any other clinical/nursing duties as assigned
