Job Summary
The incumbent shall be responsible to carry out all the technical Company radios service maintenance programs through planning/scheduling maintenance works, installations and repairs to the highest standards. Should perform any other duties as instructed by superior.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Plans, sets-up and executes a maintenance and inspection schedule of radio facilities/equipment within scope of work.
• Installs and maintains different types of radio equipment used within the company radio networks, including base station equipment and portable transceivers installed in field and motor vehicles.
• Performs general overhaul work of radio equipment in the workshop when not on field service duties.
• Rebuilds or recommends the modification of radio equipment to improve systems or meet specific requirements.
• Examines and tests various types of radio equipment to determine and recommend their disposal where necessary. Apparatus may vary in performance from one location to another depending on local conditions.
• Controls radio equipment inventory in consultation with the planned maintenance office.
• Submits accurate and adequate reports for work activities pertaining to radios.
Qualifications And Experience
- A Radio mechanic/technician certificate from a recognized school.
• Minimum of 4 years field experience in related radio communication equipment.
• Good working knowledge of AM (Amplitude Modulation), VHF (Very High Frequency) and FM (Frequency Modulation) equipment.
• Thorough knowledge of radio equipment, radio systems, test devices and techniques used for discovering defects in operating efficiency.
• Thorough knowledge of radio construction.
• Ability to design or modify equipment to meet specific requirements.
• Ability to diagnose trouble rapidly and to apply corrective measures.
