The Zimbabwe program implements projects through 14 partner organizations in 30 districts in the areas of health, OVC, education, food security and agricultural livelihoods, and peacebuilding.

Job summary
The successful candidate will monitor and report on all project activities in support of Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work of serving the poor and the vulnerable. S/he will apply a thorough and service-oriented approach to ensure that the project consistently applies best practices and constantly works towards improving the impact of its benefits to those we serve.

Duties And Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities
Supporting compliance with Agency and Donor MEAL requirements
Training MEAL Agents on the conduct of field-based MEAL activities.
Providing input into MEAL system design and review discussions; Supervising quality data collection and management activities.
Contributing initial findings and field-based insights to project discussions.
Fostering respectful relationships with community members and stakeholders.
Promoting honesty and integrity in work of MEAL Agents; Working with ICT staff to incorporate the use of ICT4D into data collection, analysis, presentation, reporting and storage.
In collaboration with the Project Manager, plan and undertake initial baseline surveys, mid-term surveys and end of project evaluation to track project progress and impact.
Assisting in developing and ensuring maintenance of information tracking systems (tracking sheets or databases), especially Indicator Performance Tracking Table, for indicators.
Periodically reviewing the Performance Indicator Tracking Table and using it regularly with project / partner staff to examine progress towards the projects’ annual and life targets and realization of the theory of change.
Developing data collection tools for the project.
Field testing M&E tools with project staff and modifying them as necessary in coordination with the Project Manager.
Training project and partner staff on PEPFAR indicators, CRS MEAL policy, standards and guidelines; Maintaining and supporting beneficiary accountability systems for the country program.
Train partner staff on DHIS 2 and POMIS database.

Qualifications And Experience

 

A Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Development Studies or related programs.
A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience preferably in an NGO setup.
Experience in participatory action planning and community engagement.
Experience in monitoring projects and collecting relevant data is preferred.
Experience in using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), (SPSS, Databases, GIS); Experience in PEPFAR OVC programming requirements.
