Key Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Quantity Surveying and related disciplines.
  • Develop and review curricula in line with emerging industry trends and professional standards.
  • Supervise undergraduate research projects, master’s dissertations, and doctoral theses, as appropriate to rank.
  • Conduct high-quality research and publish in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
  • Participate in community engagement, innovation, consultancy, and income-generating activities.
  • Undertake administrative responsibilities within the Department, Faculty, and University.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department or Dean.
  • Appointment will be made at the level of Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor, or Professor, depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications, experience, research output, professional standing, and overall academic achievements.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in Quantity Surveying from a recognised institution.
  • A Master’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Construction Management, Built Environment, or a closely related discipline from a recognised institution.
  • A PhD in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Construction Management, Built Environment, or a closely related discipline will be an added advantage.
  • Registration with, or eligibility for registration with, a recognised professional body in Quantity Surveying or the Built Environment will be an added advantage.
  • Applicants should possess relevant professional and industry experience, with demonstrated evidence of consultancy, research grant acquisition, scholarly research and publications, academic leadership, and collaboration with industry and other stakeholders.
  • The required level of experience and achievements shall be commensurate with the academic rank for which the applicant is being considered will be an added advantage.
