Requirements
- Degree in Geology
- MBA would be a distinct advantage
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Gold Mining with a minimum of 3 years’ experience at a senior level.
- International or Regional experience would be an advantage
Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance and Quality Control
- Development and Overseeing implementation of QA/QC protocols
- Management of the DMS and GIS data
- Maintenance of all exploration data, production of maps / cross sections
- Design and administration of exploration and mining geology database
- Resource Modelling
- Management of Mining software packages
- Reporting
- Oversee geology data collection and validation for mineral resource and ore reserve estimations.

• Development and creation of new gold reserves at a once Lonrho Zimbabwe owned mine in the Mazowe Valley, Bernheium mine
• Part of the team involved in executing 14km of drilling at the Indarama mine, central Zimbabwe to upgrade the resource to higher international resource levels, up to more than a Million ounces
• Mine development and surface exploration around the Monarch mine in Mozambique. Direct mine development and develop grade control methods to enhance the mine’s profitability
• Discovered a new heap leach gold deposit at Jojo mine in the Zimbabwe central Midlands greenstone belt while in the employ of Homestake Mining and Technical services.
• Manager in charge of 22km of Reverse Circulation drilling and diamond drilling done at the Pickstone Peerless Project in Chegutu, Zimbabwe. Develop resource to plus one million ounces of gold. Had a successful listing on the AIM stock exchange in the United Kingdom as a result of the above mentioned work

• Contract Technical Project Manager of U.K based Humingbird’s Dugbe World Class Exploration Project in Liberia (West Africa) with a responsibility of adding their resource base from 2m ounces to 3m ounces and contractual obligations were met by the discovery of the Tuzon and the Sackor ore deposits in the Birimian Schist belt. Deposits identified by soil geochemical methods and following artisanal miner’s workings, leading to trenching and diamond drilling.
• Consulting Exploration Director at Sino Zimbabwe, a division of Chinasonangol of China, involved in their Industrial division to set up a cement factory and assemble a gold exploration and mining division whose work resulted in Joint Venture companies from China getting interested on acquired properties in Zimbabwe. The cement division never became a success and the incumbent was mostly involved in due diligence work on properties in Zimbabwe that includes ZimPhos Fertiliser factory, Dorowa Minerals (Pvt) LTD, Zimbabwe Alloys (Pvt) LTD and Zimbabwe Iron and Steel Company. Due diligence extended to some countries outside Zimbabwe to Tanzania and Mozambique where several gold prospects and coal licences were examined, but not much success was achieved.

• Also field mapping of the old alluvial terrace and a pitting exercise to establish the alluvial gold resource along the Revue river and the Nhamucuarara rivers
• Work finally led to the RC drilling of certain prospects and good results were achieved.
• Good communication and public relations skills were displayed by meetings held with local leadership and the community at large to make exploration work possible, despite the handicap to speak Portuguese language

• Appointed section geologist at Bernheium mine, a satellite mine and involved in directing of all development and generation of new reserves
• Methods used were channel sampling, geological mapping, ore resource calculations, diamond drilling and geological interpretations

• Supervised R.C drilling programmes to find new ore at Coewara, Amatola and Graham Nigel satellite mines and all these projects went to feasibility studies level
