Procurement Officer

The Procurement Officer reports to the Executive Officer Human Resources and Administration.

The candidate should therefore be in possession of the following:


  1. A degree in purchasing and Supply management or equivalent
  2. At least three years in Procurement preferably in a public institution
  3. A professional qualification in Supply Chain Management is an added advantage.
  4. Membership of reputable procurement boards or institutes.
  5. Firm knowledge of Procurement Legislation and Regulations in Zimbabwe Strong negotiation skills
  6. At least 30 years old NO criminal record

Major duties

  1. Overseeing the procurement of goods and services for council in line with procurement regulations
  2. Advising in contract negotiations with contractors and drafting contracts.
  3. Advising the Accounting Officer on all procurement
  4. Determining applicable procurement methods to be used when requests are received.
  5. Reviewing tender documents in line with Procurement Act and Procurement Regulations.
  6. Producing monthly Procurement Reports for the accounting officer.
  7. Stores management
  8. Preparation Of annual procurement and returns
  9. Management of council registered assets and disposal of assets.
  10. Carrying Out Other administrative functions Of council
  11. Any other duties as may be assigned by the Accounting Officer and Procurement Management Unit.
