We Effect, an International Swedish NGO, is implementing an Action funded by the European Union entitled Transforming the Zimbabwe Dairy Value Chain (DVC) for the Future (2019 – 2022).
Purpose of the position
To contribute to effective and efficient implementation of the Transforming the Zimbabwe Dairy Value Chain for the Future Action especially in the areas of development and implementation of a monitoring system for measuring the performance of the dairy industry and the output, outcome and impact results from the implementation of the action.
Develop appropriate M&E system and data collection tools for the Action; Conduct baseline and annual performance assessments jointly with the Partners in the Action; Prepare an inception report consisting of a justified review of the log-frame of the Action; Provide training of Partners M&E staff on the M&E system including data collection, processing, storage, analysis and reporting; Collect, compile and analyze partner reports and preparation of consolidated progress reports that includes output, outcome and impact results from implementation of the Action; Assist in the development and management of the dairy sector performance data base; Assist in the establishment of baseline and performance indicators, the setup of digital data gathering system and preparation of DVC annual performance assessment reports; Facilitate mid-term review and evaluation of the Action by external service provider; Provide information support to surveys and research assignments; Contribute to the development and review of project plans and budgets of the Action; Prepare periodic plans and activity reports as may be required by the management; Attend Project Management Team Meetings and We Effect staff meetings; Participate in Value chain actor meetings as may be required from time to time; Communicate on matters of interest to dairy value chain actors and other stakeholders; Produce information and articles that may be required from time to time for the Project Web-site and news-letter; Carry out any other duties assigned by the Project Coordinator.
The successful candidate must have a: Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Dairy, Agriculture or related discipline with focus on project monitoring and evaluation; At least 5 to 10 years’ experience in participatory assessment, monitoring and evaluation, training and facilitation, development work in the agricultural sector; Experience from data processing / analysis, proven and demonstrated use of spreadsheets and IT statistical packages and digital data collection knowledge; Excellent communication skills using print, electronic and presentation media; Ability to translate technical information into practical guidance tools; Clean class 4 driving license and ability to travel in-country; Excellent English written and oral communication skills
Successful candidates will be engaged on an annual contractual basis to be renewed based on performance for a maximum period of four years and will be stationed in the We Effect offices at 221 Fife Avenue, Harare, Zimbabwe.
