Planning Engineer
Role Purpose
To join the Plant Engineering team, reporting to the Resident Engineer. The role is based at Freda Rebecca Gold Mine in Bindura.
Key Responsibilities
- Enforces Safety, Health and Environmental standards in line with ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards as well as other relevant legal frameworks.
- Compiles departmental capital, labour and operational expenditure budgets for the Engineering Department in liaison with relevant section heads.
- Coordinates and carries out asset performance reviews regarding targeted equipment reliability and initiates corrective action plans as necessary.
- Captures and updates procedures and methods, and ensures that these are adhered to, in-line with the Reliability Centred Maintenance strategy.
- Oversees the planning and scheduling of all maintenance activities.
- Plans and reviews shutdown performance and drafts post-mortem reports and implements corrective action plans.
- Analyses actual departmental costs against budgeted costs and recommends, monitors and reports on corrective actions.
- Accumulates, collects and analyses data and information required for planning and advises on continuous improvement initiatives in liaison with Section Engineers.
- Plans and coordinates Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for all major downtimes and tracks action plans to prevent recurrence.
- Oversees the management of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) including all forms of data relating to Engineering KPIs, backlog, asset register, accuracy and completeness of all Engineering work orders.
- Liaises with the procurement team to procure engineering spares and services as part of spare parts administration.
- Compiles daily, weekly, month end, and year end reports and any other reports as required by management.
Requirements
- Minimum B. Sc. (Hons) Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent.
- Must be member of the Engineering Council of Zimbabwe.
- 5 years of post-graduate experience, of which at least 2 years should have been in an Engineering Planning role most preferably in mining environment.
- Knowledge Enterprise Asset Management systems is a requirement.
