Monitoring, Learning and Evaluation Officer – Practical Action
Practical Action has received a matching grant from UKAID to assist communities in Gwanda and Bulilima districts, Matebeleland province, to improve their livelihoods through food security and income generation projects while mainstreaming gender, agroecology, energy, environment and sustainability initiatives. The project will establish solar powered irrigated gardens for selected beneficiary communities and build capacity of farmer groups through training in agroecological farming practices, natural resource management, catchment area management, water harvesting technologies, farmer group operations and dynamics, amongst others.
The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating progress towards achievement of set targets, drawing out and sharing lessons learnt, as well as driving project reporting; Will develop and deliver the MEL strategy; Will monitor and report performance of the project and suggest improvements to project delivery and the monitoring system based on lessons learnt; Will be the focal person for communication, coordinating information requests for both internal and external communication; The role reports to the Project Manager for day-to-day line management support and is matrix managed by the Project Coordinator; Will develop close working relationships with the Southern Africa team, including energy, agriculture and the Technical Advisor.
