MEDICAL OFFICER (1)
Hwange Colliery Company Limited, the leading coal producer in Zimbabwe, has a vacancy for a Medical Officer within the Medical Services Division. This is a middle level managerial position, which reports to the Chief Medical Officer. The ideal candidate for the post should be able to achieve the key result areas highlighted below and meet the specified maximum qualifications and attributes.

Job’s Key Result Areas
• Improved quality of care in the wards/hospital
• Proper coverage and delivery of health services at the hospital departments
• Quality emergency obstetric care in maternity
• Prompt referral of patients
• Proper documentation of patient care
• Prompt management of disease outbreaks
• Conduct daily ward rounds in respective wards
• Performing major and minor surgical operations
• Giving lectures and tutorials to student nurses
• Performing post-mortems, medical examinations for insurance underwriters, employment, pneumoconiosis, mortality meetings
• Manning satellite clinics
• Other duties as assigned

Person Specification & Requirements
• Mature and dependable person
• Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB/ MBBS)
• Related post-graduate/professional qualifications will be an added advantage
• Minimum of three [3] years post internship experience
• Must be registered by the Medical and Dental Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe
• Be conversant with the Integrated Business Management Systems (IBMS)
• Excellent problem-solving and clinical decision-making skills
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
• Highly motivated team player willing to go the extra mile.
