COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES 1 0 DEPARTMENT OF MEDICAL MICROBIOLOGY 1.1 MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST (7 POSTS)
Desired Qualifications and Essentials The successful applicant must be in possession of at least a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences (HBMLS)Degree or any other equivalent Biomedical qualification in Medical Bacteriology, Mycology. Parasitology or Virology from a reputable institution recognized by the University of Zimbabwe. The candidate must have the requisite eligibifity for registration with the Health Professions Council of Zimbabwe. A minimum of one year post-qualification experience working in a tviecfical Microbiology Laboratory is essential.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate would be responsible for: • Undertaking routine diagnostic work. •Preparation of practice’s and demonstration materials for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. •Participation in research activities within the Department. •Assisting the Chief Technologist with administrative duties. •Assisting with the organization of workshops. •Any other duties as may be assigned by the Departmental Chairperson from time to time.
