Medical Doctor – MSF-Belgium, Zimbabwe Mission

Objective of the Post Provide outpatient and/or inpatient medical care to patients/beneficiaries according to adopted and updated medical knowledge, MSF protocols, values and universal hygiene standards to improve the patients/beneficiaries health conditions

Educational and professional background:

• Medical Doctor degree / Desirable diploma in Tropical Medicine
• Minimum 2-year experience as a Medical Doctor or in clinical work (can be within medical training). Desirable in tropical medicine, or post-registration experience in Public Health, Obs and Gynae, Paediatrics, Infectious diseases, HIV/AIDS/STDs, TB, General medical practice.
• Working experience with NGO is an advantage.
• Experience in operational research, data management and analysis.
• Experience in managing key populations.
• Experience in working with young people predominately Adolescents
• Computer knowledge (Word, Excel, Power Point, E-mail & Internet) a must reporting and analytical skills
• Essential, local language and English

Tasks:

• To provide medical assistance to complicated cases as per medical ethics, MoH protocols and MSF guidelines.
• To manage and ensure health needs for key populations is provided.
• To liaise and collaborate with other partners to ensure holistic support is provided.
• To provide technical assistance, training, coaching and mentoring of medical team to optimize the quality of care.
• To provide technical assistance to the medical team and ensure that medical activities are properly managed.
• To support the provision of quality medical care for adolescents and children living with HIV/AIDS by implementing the current National ART Guideline for Prevention and Treatment of HIV.
• To support in operational research activities within the project sites, analysis and reporting.
