The Public Relations Officer is part of the University Marketing and International Affairs team. The main purpose of the Public Relations Officer is to support the Director for Marketing and International Affairs in raising the visibility of the University by carrying out an effective media and public relations plan
Duties And Responsibilities
To develop and implement the public relations and recruitment strategies. This work will be undertaken in a manner that is consistent with the University’s marketing and recruitment strategy;
2. To develop presentations and press releases;
3. To assist the Marketing and International Affairs director in handling enquiries from the press, the public and related organisations;
4. To develop and implement an innovative range of promotional and public relations activities that will ensure that a larger number and broader range of appropriate applicants are attracted to, and select, the programmes offered by the University;
5. To Provide the University with information about new promotional opportunities and writing reports on on-going PR campaigns;
6. To initiate and monitor the University’s Public Relations programmes;
7. To represent the University at a number of student recruitment fairs and exhibitions in Zimbabwe and beyond;
8. Communicating with students and clients on the social media platforms
Qualifications And Experience
Diploma in Mass Communication and Journalism or equivalent
A first degree in the same field will be an added advantage
Good communication skills
Good report writing skills
