Market Development Officer X 2

LOCATION: MT DARWIN DISTRICT AND BINDURA DISTRICT

Purpose of the Position:

To ensure effective programme implementation and delivery of market development deliverables, provide guidance on value chain development to small holder farmers, and private sector engagement for the consortium at district level.

Major Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

• Implement district work plan for market linkages and value chain development.
• Document case studies and most significant change stories.
• Facilitate linkage between farmers and off takers.
• Provide linkages between Farmers Organizations and Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs),
• Supporting farmer groups and agro dealers in aggregation and identify new market opportunities.
• Analyze value chains which connect rural farmers to markets, agricultural inputs and established financial services.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Degree in marketing management, business, economics or agricultural economics.
• A minimum of 3+ years related to marketing and business practices especially in the agriculture sector.
• Experience conducting financial analysis of agro-enterprises.
