Key Responsibilities
- Preparing legal submissions and representing NRZ in civil claims, criminal prosecutions and labour court proceedings.
- Providing timely and sound legal advice on diverse issues affecting NRZ operations, including verbal and written consultations.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts and legal documents to ensure compliance with current laws and enforceability.
- Ensuring Alternate Dispute Resolution options are exercised and exhausted first before litigation.
- Ensuring the organisation’s operations are aligned with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Participating in disciplinary processes and appeals, ensuring legally compliant and fair outcomes in collaboration with the Human Resources and Administration Branch.
- Staying abreast of legislative and regulatory developments that may impact NRZ and advising accordingly.
- Supporting the organisation’s data privacy and protection compliance issues and liaising with Data Protection Authority.
- Conducting training and awareness sessions on legal and data protection matters.
- Filing and tracking of all legal documents, contracts, correspondences, court orders and any other relevant reports.
Requirements
- Have a relevant Law Degree (e.g. LLB Degree) from a recognised institution.
- Be a registered Legal Practitioner or significant progress towards registration.
- Have at least three (3) years’ relevant experience in a legal environment.
- Have strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks relevant to NRZ, transport and logistics sector.
- NB: Experience in drafting and reviewing complex Public-Private Partnerships Agreements is a distinct advantage
