A large Zimbabwe business conglomerate with interests in mining, real estate and manufacturing sectors invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced lawyers to take up the position of Legal Officer / In-House Lawyer. The successful candidate will support the company on a broad range of legal, regulatory, compliance, commercial, employment and litigation matters arising in a challenging business environment.

Key Responsibilities
- 1. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and commercial documents.
- 2. Advising on mining, corporate, employment, regulatory, and compliance issues.
- 3. Supporting litigation, arbitration, debt recovery, and dispute-resolution matters.
- 4. Managing external counsel and liaising with regulators, creditors, contractors, employees, and other stakeholders.
- 5. Supporting restructuring, turnaround, and risk-management initiatives.
- 6. Maintaining company records, legal files, licences, permits, and statutory documentation.
Requirements
- 1. A law degree from a recognised University.
- 2. Admission as a legal practitioner, conveyancer and notary public will be an added advantage.
- 3. At least 3 years’ post-qualification experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or commercial environment.
- 4. Exposure to mining, corporate/commercial law, labour law, litigation, debt recovery, insolvency, regulatory compliance, or contract management will be an added advantage.
- 5. Strong drafting, negotiation, advisory, and problem-solving skills.
- 6. Ability to work under pressure in a distressed business environment requiring urgency, discretion, and sound judgment.
Salary
Salary will be advised to shortlisted candidates. The remuneration package will be structured on a Total Cost to Company basis.
