Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Legal Officer to join our team, specializing in Commercial and Construction Law. The successful candidate will provide expert legal advice and support to the organization on commercial law matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide Legal Advice: Offer expert legal advice on commercial law matters, including contract review, negotiation, and drafting.
2. Contract Management: Manage and maintain contracts, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
3. Commercial Transactions: Advise on and facilitate commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and partnerships.
4. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure organizational compliance with relevant commercial laws and regulations, including company law, competition law, and consumer protection law.
5. Dispute Resolution: Assist in resolving commercial disputes, including negotiation, mediation, and litigation.
6. Policy Development: Contribute to the development and review of organizational policies and procedures related to commercial law.
7. Training and Awareness: Provide training and awareness programs for staff on commercial law matters.
Qualifications and Experience
1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) or equivalent.
2. Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in commercial law, preferably in a similar industry or organization.
3. Professional Certifications: Admission as an Advocate of the High Court or equivalent.
4. Skills:
– Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
– Strong knowledge of commercial law, including contract law, and company law.
– Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
– Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
