Provide legal advice to the Commission on issues pertaining to the day-to-day administration of the ZMC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review policy in relation to the pieces of legislation under the Commission’s jurisdiction to be in alignment with the Constitution of Zimbabwe, Amendment (No. 20) Act 2013.
  • Manages the legal aspects of Registration, Accreditation, Investigations, Hearings, Complaints and Monitoring.
  • Overseeing the implementation of all statutory provisions and the drafting of all legal instruments as prescribed by the Act.
  • Prepare International and local agreements / contracts to be entered into between the Commission and other parties.
  • Conduct research and keep abreast with the current trends on legal issues / matters prevailing in Regional and International arena within the Commission’s mandate.
  • Advise disciplinary authorities in the Commission on all disciplinary procedures.
  • Prepare legal correspondence of the Commission.
  • Servicing Board and Committee meetings.
  • Preparation of Board documents and minutes and other relevant papers
  • Responsible to the welfare of the Board.
  • Interfacing with Commission Legal Representatives.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Laws Honours degree or equivalent.
  • Possession of a Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • Must be registered Legal Practitioner.
  • Understanding of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar or relevant field.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Possess good leadership qualities.
  • Computer literate.
