The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, a Parastatal within the Ministry of Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality Industry,
invites applications from interested candidates who wish to be considered for the following positions:
LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE OFFICER

Reporting Structure

The incumbent reports to Company Secretary.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Establishes measures that ensure the business complies with all applicable laws, statutes and regulations, standards of best practice, internal policies, processes, and procedures
2. Drafting and reviewing contracts with third parties to ensure that the organization’s interests are protected
3. Oversees and ensures proper safe custody of contracts and other important documentation for the business.
4. Liaises with Procurement Department on contract negotiations reviews and finalization.
5. Advising on general business law issues and managing legal issues including corporate matters, procurement health and safety and governance.
6. Advising on data protection and privacy matters
7. Educate employees and volunteers on not only the legal requirements but also the impact on the organization if these aren’t complied with.
8. Assist in the gathering of internal information in response to regulatory requests.
9. Perform various general administrative duties (such as file creation and maintenance of ongoing administrative projects).
10. Collaborate with other departments to create a culture of compliance.
11. Assisting the Company Secretary in the provision of legal advice in-house as required.

1. Analytical and problem-solving skills
2. Legal experience in corporate and commercial matters
3. Planning and organizational skills
4. Communication and presentation skills

Qualifications

1. A degree, preferably in Law and Compliance or equivalent
2. A master’s degree in Law and Compliance is an added advantage.
3. Minimum of three years’ experience of working in a legal and compliance field.
