• First Degree in Media and Society Studies/Media Studies/Communication Studies or equivalent

• MA/MSc/ MPhil in Media and Society Studies or related media and communications area.
• Experience in print journalism at a senior level is a pre-requisite

The candidate must be capable of supervising both undergraduate and postgraduate students’ research work, assess students on Work Related Learning and should be able to teach and conduct practicals in the following areas of the programme:
• Practical print journalism
• Relevant aspects of media law and ethics within practical print and digital journalism
• Standard English for journalism
• Desktop publishing, digital print journalism, converged media/hypermedia
