Bubi Rural District Council invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of IT Systems Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, maintenance and security of the Council’s information and communication technology infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installing, configuring and maintaining computer hardware, software and network systems
  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting to all departments
  • Administering the Council’s local area network (LAN), internet and email systems
  • Implementing and monitoring IT security policies, data backups and disaster recovery procedures
  • Managing and updating the Council’s website and digital platforms
  • Conducting staff training on the use of IT systems and tools
  • Preparing IT-related reports and advising management on technology upgrades

Requirements

  • A Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT support or systems administration
  • Hands-on experience with network administration, server management and cybersecurity practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical staff
