Background
The Zimbabwe Evaluation Association (ZEA) is a membership-based organization that exists to serve the evaluation community and promote quality evaluation practice in Zimbabwe. The association also exists to build partnership with policy makers to utilize evaluation findings and disseminates evaluation information to stakeholders. In addition, it also provides a networking platform system for sharing lessons and good practices in evaluation.
ZEA is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated IT intern to support the organisation in building functions of the website and social media platforms. This will involve upgrading the website and social media platforms to enhance the organisations online campaign strategy and its membership management features.
Overall Duties
The IT Intern will assist in managing, maintaining, developing, designing and updating the intranet. This will involve upgrading the ZEA website and social media platforms, to be more interactive and visible to a wide audience. The Intern will work closely with the Programme Assistant, giving updates on progress and recommendations for maintenance and upgrade. He/ she will interact with web and graphic designers, content specialists and technologists to improve the website as well as launch new products.
Specific duties:
Ensure that the website features are up-to date, including news, events and alerts; Develop and implement strategies and new tools for recruiting and engaging members through social media; Ensure the website and social media are interactive; Improve and update ZEA membership database to include membership status; Advertise ZEA membership events(up-coming, hosted and attended); Create / establish an online database mailing list of members; Submit weekly status report on developments made and recommended functions and way forward; Support the management of ZEA’s global presence on social media including regular updates and personal communications with followers; Providing research based strategic advice on the development and use of new tools for online campaigning
Key competencies
Experience writing or participating in blogs, community sites and social media; An understanding of internet communications strategies, social media trends, techniques and information design; Experience in developing and implementing online campaigns and/or marketing strategies; Skills to build and maintain relationships with bloggers and key online outlets; Experience editing images or preparing graphics for the web and email communications; Experience engaging and building communities on social networks, particularly Twitter, Facebook, You Tube and G-Suite
Required Skills and Experience
Education: Undergraduate degree in Information Technology, interactive telecommunications or related field
Availability: Must be available at least three days a week, preferably full-time
