Job Summary
To provide independent assurance that an organisation’s risk management, governance and internal control processes are operating effectively to executive management and the board of directors through the audit committee. To coordinate the planning, execution, and reporting in the area of core audit assurance and recommend changes and enhancements to existing policies and controls to make sure they are current, adequate and functional.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Identifies risks and advises the impact on business performance update identified risks from the Risk Register and Control Risk Assessment in line with market, process and any other relevant changes in order to advise on the decision of the nature of audit, assurance, assessment and other risk consulting activities to be conducted thereon.
- Recommends to Internal Risk Manager areas to be included in the annual audit plan based on risks identified.
- Executes the audit engagement by conducting audit tests and compiling of evidence to support audit opinion and preparing audit file for review by Internal Risk Manager
- Preparation of the dashboard showing the progress towards achieving the annual audit plan for discussion and review by Internal Risk Manager.
- Receives and independently reviews existing policies and procedures by assessing them for design and operational effectiveness.
- Recommends on which policy and procedures should be reviewed based on the risk profiling of business units or business processes
- Leads and coordinates the audit team during execution of the audit fieldwork, including supervising team and reviewing work performed by team members
- Compiles audit report with recommendations, discuss with and obtain management response to those recommendations and decides on adequate mitigation measures.
- Developing a plan on legal, regulatory and best industry/other standards compliance assessments and related recommendations.
