Internal Auditor

Duties And Responsibilities

• Translating company-approved annual audit plans into action by leading, within defined time parameters, specific audit interventions and executing internal audit tasks with minimal supervision
• Contribute to the internal audit function by identifying risks associated with business objectives and evaluating the controls in place to mitigate such risks with the view of improving risk management processes
• Evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of management controls over the organisational & functional activities and providing value-added advice and support by way of creation or modification of policies, procedures, processes. to ensure appropriate levels of internal control and/or compliance are maintained
• Planning, organising, and carrying out assignments on the annual Internal Audit Plan, in accordance with accepted auditing standards
• Assisting the external auditors in the performance of the financial year-end audits
• Reporting audit findings and making recommendations for correcting unsatisfactory conditions, improving operations and reducing costs accordance with accepted auditing standards

Qualifications And Experience

• Relevant Degree from a recognised University
• Possession a professional qualification, e.g. C.I.A,ACCA, CIMA, will be an added advantage
• Minimum of 5 years working experience, 3 of which should have been in an Audit or Finance Department Working knowledge of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, preferably SAP
• High level of Computer literacy
• Strong analytical skills for gathering, interpreting and evaluating data
• Sound communication and report writing skills
• Self-awareness and confidence to work using initiative
