Advocates For Sustainable livelihoods (ADSL) is a Non Governmental Organization that aims at providing technical farming assistance to communal farmers as a way of promoting sustainable agriculture and poverty alleviation.
This internship is located at Bothwell House, 66 Jason Moyo Avenue, First Floor, Office Number 10, Harare. Harare, duty station.

Internship commences 4 February 2019.
The Internship is UNPAID, ADSL shall provide transport allowance. Internship is full-time, work five days per week (40 hours) under the supervision of a committee member to which you’re are assigned. The internship is for a duration of 6 months with a possibility of extension up to a maximum of 12 months.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the ADSL committee member, the intern will:Execute Project management functions including backstopping implementation of project activities & monitoringResearch, analyse and present information gathered from diverse sources to support the implementation of ADSL project ;Assist in organizing outreach activities including communication and awareness raising and use of social media to communicate project launch. Assist with the organization of meetings and outreach events, sourcing appropriate ADSL information materials , and report writing; create ADSL membership Database. Carry out any other additional duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the ADSL committee member.

Partnership Orientation:Considers all those to whom services are provided to be ADSL partners and seeks to see things from partners’ point of view. Establishes and maintains productive partnerships by gaining their trust and respect. Identifies partners’ need and matches them to appropriate solutions. Monitors ongoing developments inside and outside the partners’ environment to keep informed and anticipate problems. Keeps partners informed of progress or setbacks in project. Meets timeline for delivery of products or services for the project.
Education
Applicants must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:a. Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);b. Be enrolled in the third academic year/attachment year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent);c. Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.
Be computer literate in standard software applications.
Have demonstrated keen interest in the work of the ADSL and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the ADSL constitution.
Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
Work Experience
Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the programme.
Languages
English and Shona languages. For this internship, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of other Zimbabwe official languages is an advantage.
