ZIMBABWE PARKS AND WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGER (D5)
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill in the above vacant post, which has arisen within the Authority at the Corporate Centre. The incumbent will report to the Director Finance, Administration, and Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities

Develops and executes the Authority’s Information Communication Technology (ICT) strategy in alignment with corporate objectives and national priorities.

Establishes and enforces ICT policies, procedures, standards, and service levels to ensure effective governance.

Implements robust data governance, security protocols, and change-management controls.

Oversees planning, deployment, maintenance, and optimisation of ICT infrastructure including networks, cloud platforms, hardware, and communication systems across ZIMPARKS.

Leads the development, integration, and support of enterprise systems (finance, HR, tourism, conservation, permits, and other operational domains).

Monitors system performance and uptime, ensuring reliability and adherence to SLAs.

Manages the full lifecycle of ICT assets from acquisition to disposal to maximise value and efficiency.

Drives digital transformation by researching, evaluating, and deploying innovative technologies such as GIS, drones, mobile platforms, and remote monitoring tools.

Oversees ICT procurement, licensing, contracts, and vendor performance in line with governance frameworks and value-for-money principles.

Collaborates with internal departments to ensure ICT solutions align with business needs and future organisational growth.

Prepares, manages, and monitors ICT operational and capital budgets to support cost-effective investments and sustainable operations.

Drives workforce development through targeted training aligned with technical, safety, and regulatory standards.

Fosters a culture of service excellence, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the ICT team.
Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Communication Technology or equivalency.

Master’s degree in ICT, Business Administration, Information Security, or a related discipline is a distinct advantage.

Relevant certifications are a strong advantage, demonstrating advanced competence in service management, project management, cybersecurity, and network/cloud engineering.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a managerial role, overseeing ICT operations, teams, budgets, and projects.

Proven experience managing complex ICT infrastructure, enterprise systems, and support services in a decentralized, multi-site, or field-based environment.

Exposure to Geographical Information Systems (GIS), drone technologies, smart conservation tools, IoT solutions, or public-sector technology environments is an added advantage.
