JOB DESCRIPTION
City of Harare is inviting suitable applicants for the vacant position of HEAD PHARMACEUTICAL SERVICES that has arisen in its Health Department.
GRADE: 4
LOCATION: BEATRICE ROAD INFECTIOUS DISEASES HOSPITAL (BRIDH)
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF HEALTH SERVICES
JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for Pharmaceutical supply chain management in Council and supervision of staff.
KEY RESULT AREAS
- Responsible for overall planning and management of pharmaceutical services in the City Health department.
- Ensures effective running of the medical Stores.
- Responsible for stock management and, distribution of stock items to Health institutions and other Public Health institutions.
- Ensures effective ordering of medicines, vaccines, medical sundries and equipment from Natpharm and Private suppliers in liaison with the Director of Health Services.
- Ensures monitoring and performance management.
- Responsible for advising the Director of Health Services on policy regarding Pharmaceutical services.
- Ensures supervision of subordinates.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree
- Professional registration and current practising certificates a must.
- At least 5 years relevant experience.
KEY COMPETENCES
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently, both independently and within a team
- Ability to handle pressure and work with minimum supervision.
