JOB OBJECTIVE:
To ensure the delivery of quality oral health servces to dental patients by leading and organising City Health Dental Staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participates in the development of dental health services direction and the articulation of a compelling vision, mission and strategic objectives and develop strategies in support of the organization.
  • Formulates policies and strategies for dental service delivery.
  • Develop and ensure full understanding of dental health policies and ensure compliance.
  • Communicates strategies with staff in the organization and ensure alignment of culture and behaviors.
  • Develops training and dental budgets that will realize set and agreed objectives.
  • Monitors the allocated budget in a manner that will achieve strategies of the organization and avoid financial loss or misuse of resources.
  • Ensures dental clinics achieve monthly cash flow goals and adhere to cash flow policies.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Health Services and Provincial Health Team monthly to ensure smooth operation of dental division.
  • Provides dental treatments to patients as scheduled daily especially on specialized dental treatments referred by dental therapists and dental interns.
  • Supervises dental division staff and provide guidance and support if needed.
  • Evaluates the professional staff to ensure performance goals related to production, clinical quality and regulatory compliance are met daily, quarterly and yearly.
  • Organizes and allocate resources to dental staff and coordinate activities of the dental unit.
  • Produces monthly, quarterly and annual reports for the attention of the Director of Health Services.

Requirements

  • Basic Dental Degree(BDS).
  • Masters in relevant field is an added advantage.
  • Registration and valid Practising Certificates a must.
  • Must be a good team leader.
  • Clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence a must.
  • At least 5 years practical experience as a Dental Officer.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Integrity.
