MANDATE OF APPOINTING OFFICERS OF PARLAIMENT
Section 154 of the Constitution stipulates that the Clerk of Parliament and other Staff of Parliament are appointed on terms of service approved from time to time by the Committee on Standing Rules and Orders and are Public Officers, distinct and separate from the Civil Service.
The Parliament of Zimbabwe (PoZ) is looking for versatile and dynamic GRADUATE INTERNS to join its Budget Office Team. This opportunity is for a fixed one- year contract subject to the provisions of the Officers of Parliament (Terms of Service) Regulations, 2018.
Applications are, therefore, invited from suitably qualified recent graduates with the following qualifications and attributes:

LOCATION : PARLIAMENT BUDGET OFFICE
REPORTS TO : DIRECTOR BUDGET OFFICE
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting in the collection of information for the production of the short term and long term economic forecasts;
- Assisting in the analysis of the implications of the annual macroeconomic plans of government;
- Assisting in the collection of information for the analysis of the public and external debt of the country;
- Assisting in research and analysis of the effects of new legislation on economic performance, trends in private savings and investments including Foreign Direct Investments;
- Conduct studies on any other sectoral topical issues of interest to Parliament and the Portfolio Committees;
- Any other relevant duty as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
- A Bachelor of Science Economics degree
- Conversant with econometric modeling and statistical packages
- Excellent time management
- Ability to multi-task and meet constant deadlines
- Willingness to work long hours, when necessary
