Grade Control Geologist Position
Duties and Responsibilities.
• Ensuring high standards of open pit grade control.
• Providing geological data to mining for mine design and production planning in an accurate and timely manner.
• Carrying out geological research to locate potential mine sites and evaluate their viability.
• Training Mine Geologists and helping them to improve grade control systems and procedures.
• Communicating daily with production personnel, to ensure minimum dilution during loading of ore.
• Carrying out monthly reconciliations to reconcile planned with actual production data and providing input and feedback to mining and processing.
• Ensuring that Safety Health & Environment issues are adhered to within the section/ department.
Qualifications and Skills.
• BSc (Hons) Geology or equivalent.
• At least 6 years’ experience with 2-3 years at an open pit mine.
• Relevant open pit mining experience.
• Experience working in greenstone belt will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of 3 D modelling (Datamine) will be highly recommended.
