Main Responsibilities
The candidate is expected to: Ensure an efficient and effective management (technical, organizational, administrative) of the project activities, under the coordination of COSV programme coordinator; Elaborate reports and carry out monitoring mission on the field; Build fruitful collaboration and relationships with relevant stakeholders, with specific focus on agricultural sector: beneficiaries (e.g. farmers’ associations, productive groups), local authorities, governmental institutions, private sector, local and international partners, etc; Identification of viable business opportunities to ensure sustainability of the project activities.

Qualifications

Essential
At least 7 years of experience in development cooperation with verifiable references in the NGO sector; Substantial experience working in Zimbabwe with a particular and solid understanding of the country agricultural, cultural, economic, institutional and political context; Substantial experience in livestock sector, especially goat value chain development; Proactive aptitude in building and managing partnerships with different bodies and institutions (including profit organizations); Strong experience in representing an organization with partners, government agencies, private sector organizations and donors at relevant level; Strong experience in community rural development, with focus on livestock; Previous experience in managing projects funded by international donors; Experience in working with the private sector to develop inclusive viable business; Languages: first class communication skills in Shona, Ndebele and English; Report writing skills (narrative and technical); Strong facilitation, negotiating and problem solving skills; Clean Class 4 Driving license with at least 3 years driving experience and defensive driving certificate.

Desirable
Track record in developing profitable business relations in the context of similar projects; Strong leadership skills and previous experience in team building and conflict resolution; Previous experience in managing EU funded projects: sound knowledge of EU procedures, tools and implementation standards, including project cycle management and LF; Knowledge of M&E tools.
