• Ensuring accurate monthly and year-end accounting reporting (internal and externa) by proper application of accounting standards.
• Dealing in the financial markets to hedge the interest rate or foreign exchange risks identified above
• Developing, implementing and ensuring adherence to internal controls relating to treasury cash management
• Managing the insurance portfolio of the organisation to ensure that the company’s risks are completely covered by updating monthly the nature and magnitude of risks covered.
• Reviewing and making modifications to accounting systems and procedures and monitoring compliance.
• Reviewing and approving payment requests after ensuring that relevant procedures are adhered to and reducing fraud by assessing the authenticity of payment requests.
• Overseeing technical tax matters and recommending correct treatment.

Person Specification

• Accounting / Finance Degree or equivalent qualification
• At least five years’ experience in the accounting field
• Good appreciation of accounting standards.
• Good appreciation of taxation law.
• Good supervisory and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Ability to work under enormous amounts of pressure.
• Excellent PC skills with proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access.
• Good presentation skills.
• General understanding of financial statements, revenue & cost accounting.
