JOB SUMMARY
The Facilities and Equipment Janitor shall be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, orderliness and basic upkeep of sports facilities, equipment and surrounding areas. The incumbent will ensure that sports venues and equipment are clean, safe, properly arranged and ready for training, competitions and other departmental activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain sports facilities, including gymnasiums, swimming pool, changing rooms, ablution facilities, offices, courts, playing fields, pavilions and surrounding areas.
- Clean, sanitise and properly store sports equipment after use.
- Set up and dismantle sports equipment and venues for training sessions, competitions and departmental events.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment and report defects, damages and safety hazards.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks within the scope of the position.
- Ensure that facilities and equipment are secure before and after use.
- Assist in the movement, loading and unloading of sports equipment when required.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning materials and report shortages to the supervisor.
- Dispose of waste in accordance with University health and safety procedures.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety in all assigned work areas.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Sports Coordinator.
Requirements
- At least three (3) Ordinary Level passes.
- At least 2 years proven working experience in a university or tertiary institution.
