EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR:TECHNICAL DOMAIN – SIRDC 130 views

The SIRDC, a Research & Development and Technology Transfer organization, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the Senior Management position of Executive Director – Technical Domain. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent will be in charge of:
⦁ Coordinating the research work of the Centre through Directors of Research Institutes.
⦁ Overseeing the general operations of the Institutes.
⦁ Overseeing professional development of Scientists.
⦁ Overseeing the management of projects through the Stage Gate business model.
⦁ Overseeing the protection and management of the Centre’s Intellectual Property assets.
⦁ Providing leadership in commercialisation of research outputs and marketing of SIRDC technologies to industry and commerce.
⦁ Deputize for the Chief Executive Officer in his absence.

Qualifications and Experience
The incumbent should have the following qualifications and experience:
⦁ A PhD degree in sciences/engineering with broad experience in Research and Development, technology, strategic planning, contract formulation and management and quality management systems.
⦁ At least 5 years experience in a leadership position in research, academia or industry.
⦁ Capable of providing leadership to national research programmes.
⦁ Capable of managing multidisciplinary project teams.
⦁ Demonstrable track record of working with professional and industry associations at national and international level.
