Director of Innovation and Technology Transfer
CENTRE FOR INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER (CITT)
Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (MUAST) is in the process of establishing an Innovation and Technology Transfer Hub to spur creation of science and technology solutions for the modernisation and industrialisation of Zimbabwe and the world.
Applicants must have an MSc in Food Science, Food Processing, Nutrition or any related area from reputable Universities. A PhD will be an added advantage.
Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing projects with demonstrable innovations in food processing, value addition and technology preferably at tertiary Institutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
• General administration and coordination of technical support to the activities assigned to the Innovation and Technology Transfer Hub; • Overseeing the design and construction of the Innovation and Technology Transfer Hub in collaboration with the Works and Estates Director; • Overseeing the procurement and installation of infrastructure and equipment at the Innovation and Technology Transfer Hub; • Facilitate the exchange of ideas leading to commercialisable innovations between students, faculty, staff, industry and other stakeholders, including organising colloquia; • Developing and managing linkages between the university and public and private organisations in order to design, test and validate technology solutions beneficial to industry and commerce; Developing a framework for intellectual property protection for students, faculty, staff and cooperating partners; • Monitoring copyrights and trademarks of innovations created at the Innovation and Technology Transfer Hub and developing M & E tools to quantify the impacts of the innovations and Performing any other related duties as may be delegated
