VACANCY NOTICE
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the above position and will be reporting to the Town Clerk.
Qualifications and Requirements
The Director of Finance is responsible for the maintenance of the books of accounts for the local authority and therefore requires the following:-
- A recognized University Degree in Finance or Accounting. A full CIS or CIA or CIMA is also acceptable.
- At least three years post qualification experience in middle management accounting position.
- At least 30 years old and mature.
- A citizen of Zimbabwe.
- A clean criminal record.
- A clean record of service within the local government fraternity where applicable.
- A clean class 4 driver’s licence.
- Alt Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparation of final accounts and financial statements timeously.
- Preparation of annual budget.
- Capital project investment appraisal.
- Preparations of monthly income and expenditure statements.
- Development of systems that safeguard Council assets.
- Ensuring timely collection of all revenue due to Council,
- Recommending and managing effective debt collection systems.
- Answerable for all internal control systems within the Finance Department.
- Identification of revenue generating strategies.
- Maintenance of books of accounts.
- Advising Council on all financial matters.
