Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the formulation, implementation and review of vehicle licence application and issuance policies, regulations and procedures in line with the Ministry’s mandate, strategic plan and national development imperatives.
- Develop strategic plans to guide the operations of the Vehicle Licenses Section at the Central Vehicle Registry.
- Monitor the processing of applications for Vehicle Licenses in line with the Section’s standard operating procedures.
- Develop synergies with stakeholders and partners such as law enforcement agencies, ZINARA and other Local Authorities on the issuance and management of vehicle licences.
- Prepare and submit statements for use by law enforcement agencies in respect of vehicle licence requirements and status.
- Appear in Court of Law as a state witness on behalf of the Registrar on vehicle licence litigation.
Requirements
- A Degree in Social Sciences, Management or equivalent.
- A relevant Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- A minimum of six (6) years’ relevant experience at Licensing/Registration Officer grade level.
- Knowledge of the motor industry and transport rules and regulations.
- Working knowledge of Contract Management and processes.
- Sound negotiating skills.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
