Vacancy – Database Assistant
The HALO trust is the world’s leading humanitarian mine clearance organisation, leading the effort to protect lives and restore livelihoods for those affected by conflict. We began our work in Zimbabwe in 2013 clearing landmines from the northern border with Mozambique, enabling rural communities to safely access their water sources, fields and services. Today, we have more than 400 staff in Zimbabwe, divided between our field locations in Mount Darwin and Rushinga districts, and our main office in Harare.
About the Role
The HALO Trust is recruiting a database assistant to be based in Harare and supporting our IM officer. Our team in Harare process large amounts of data every day, and the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurately entry of data provided by the field teams. Furthermore, the role has the responsibility ensure that procedures are followed and standards are met, and to provide support as needed to the IM officer. The role is also expected to occasionally remote field locations over-night.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience with data entry
- Fast typing
- Basic understanding of databases (Microsoft Access)
- Self-motivated, focused and with great attention to detail
- Willingness to visit remote field camps
- National Certificate or National Diploma in ICT or related field an added advantage
