Data Base Administrator
We Effect is a Swedish International NGO implementing an Action funded by the European Union entitled Transforming the Zimbabwe Dairy Value Chain (DVC) for the Future (2019 – 2022).
Main responsibilities
- Assist in the development and design of an electronic platform for capturing of relevant information on the performance of the dairy industry;
- Assist in the development and design of information collection instruments tailor made to the different value chain actors;
- Manage the collection, capturing and storage of data/information into the data base;
- Facilitate the setting-up of a digital data gathering system;
- Facilitate the establishment of a baseline on DVC performance indicators and assist in annual performance assessments;
- Generate and share periodic performance assessment reports;
- Compile progress and assessment reports as may be required in the project;
- Attend Project Management Team meetings;
- Carry out any other duties within the framework of the project assigned by the ZDIT Administrator and the Project Coordinator.
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent in the same field;
- At least 5 to 10 years’ experience from data base administration including design of data base systems, data processing and analysis, use of spreadsheets and IT statistical packages and digital data collection;
- Excellent communication skills using print, electronic and presentation media;
- Clean class 4 driving license, excellent English written and oral communication skills.
The successful candidate will be engaged on an annual contractual basis to be renewed based on performance for a maximum period of four years and will be stationed in the ZDIT Secretariat housed in the Dairy Services offices, Makombe Complex, Herbert Chitepo Street, Harare, Zimbabwe.
