Job Description
Reporting to Program Coordinator, the job holder will be responsible for facilitation of community mobilisation of adolescent girls, young mothers , families and communities for their participation in the Supporting Adolescent Girls’ Education (SAGE) Project.

Accountabilities

Community Mobilization and Facilitation
• Mobilises adolescent girls and young women to enroll for Non-formal Education and Transition Programs delivered through the SAGE project.
• Makes follow up on attendance, retention and completion of participants for the Non-formal Education and Transition Programmes.
• Engages and liaises with stakeholders to support the project towards achievement of project goals and outcomes.

Coordination and Networking

• Establishes good working relations with project staff, beneficiaries, families, community leadership, Community Hub Educators, Schools, Community-based Organizations (CBOs), government extension staff and other stakeholders at village, ward and district levels.
• Participates in stakeholder meetings and networks at village, ward and district levels.
Building relationship activities
• Creates community awareness on development education.
• Promotes integration of project and program processes at field level.
• Promotes child rights based programming at field level.

Child Protection & gender equality mainstreaming

• Promotes and abides by Plan policies and procedures including but not limited to: Gender equality mainstreaming, Safeguarding Policy; Gender Responsive Safe Guarding, Code of Conduct and the related mandatory reporting responsibilities.
• Facilitate dissemination of information to communities ensuring adolescent girls and other children are well versed with child protection.
• Reports promptly and accurately all child protection incidents and concerns (in area of operation) to the Program Area Manager.

Knowledge

• A Diploma/Degree in Social Work, Development Studies or related discipline from a recognized institute.
• A clean class 3 riders’ licence
• Willingness to ride a motorbike
• At least 3 years experience in a similar role in an NGO environment.

Skills

• Good communication, facilitation and report writing skills
• Strong team-building and motivational skills
