Civil Engineering Technician

The incumbent will report to the District Engineer. The Civil Engineering Technician will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities carried out in line with the provision of the Regional, Town and Country Planning act [Chapter 29:12] and RDC Act [Chapter 29:13].

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervision of the roads gang.
• Supervision of all road works.
• Supervision of civil works and construction works.
• Supervision of Council repairs and maintenance works.
• Production of road monthly and quarterly maintenance plans.
• Perform road condition surveys and produce monthly reports on state of roads.
• Fleet supervision.
• Compilation of statutory returns.
• Any other duties delegated by the Engineer.

REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum of a Civil Engineering related Diploma.
• Must have 5 0 levels including Maths, a Science subject and English.
• 3 years experience in the Civil Engineering field working in local authorities.
• At least 2 years’ experience in road construction and maintenance.
• Must be a team player and able to work with minimum supervision.
• Class 4 driver’s licence.
• Computer literate.
• AutoCAD proficiency an added advantage.
