CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN [GRADE 93

REPORTING TO: CIVIL ENGINEER

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Civil Engineering
• HND/ Degree in Civil Engineering will be an added advantage
• Affiliation to a professional body will be an added advantage
• At least two years working experience preferably in a local government environment

• Computer literate e.g. AutoCAD
• No criminal record

Duties and responsibilities

• Overseeing the construction and maintenance of roads, water, public lighting and sewer reticulation systems

• Coordinating WASH activities in the district
• Preparing annual road maintenance programs and roads acquittals for submission to Zinara
• Preparation of bill of quantities for council projects or works
• Project management and supervision of construction and maintenance jobs
• Building inspections
• Management of contracts for all civil works
• Assist in preparation of the departmental budget Supervision of junior staff within the department Preparation of project proposals and designs
