CHIEF INVESTIGATION OFFICER KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Supervising Senior Investigators and Investigators in producing reports on unfair trade practices i.e. Dumping, subsidisation and surges in imports; b. Attending trade negotiation meetings on trade remedies at senior level where policy decisions are made: c. Making presentations on trade defence instruments issues at workshops or any other events that require senior level participation; d. Draft research and related papers on Trade Development Instruments; e. Interaction with Government and the business community at senior level giving them advice on trade remedies; f. Conducting advocacy and awareness programmes to enhance public awareness of the unfair trade practices; g. Undertaking performance appraisal of Senior Investigators and Investigators in the Division; h. Write policy papers on Trade Remedies for Government as and when required; i. Recommend legislative reviews on trade defence instruments for adoption by the Commission: j. Liaising with the Assistant Director in designing the work programme of the division and carrying out the mandate of the Division; k. Drafting the budget of the trade remedies unit; I. Carrying out any other duties assigned by the Assistant Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor of Honours Degree in Economics/ Accountancy/ Law, and • Master’s Degree in any relevant discipline
EXPERIENCE
• At least 5 years working experience
