Chamber Secretary

Applications are being invited from suitably qualified persons with relevant experience to fill the post of Chamber Secretary The Chamber is a Head of Department who reports to the Town Clerk.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• A degree in Law. Social Sciences, Business Administration.
• A relevant post-graduate qualification will be an added advantage.
• At least 5 years relevant experience, 2 years of which must be at a Senior Management level and preferably in a local government environment.

DUTIES

• Heading the Chamber Secretary’s Department.
• Attendance at Council and Committee Meetings.
• Production of Council and Committee Minutes.
• Control and provision of secretarial services to committees and Council meetings.
• Supervision of licensing matters and preparation of licensing documents for the Licensing Authority meetings.
• Organizing civic events and functions.
• Handling the Personnel and Employee Relations functions of the Council.
