Key Responsibilities
- Project Appraisal: Develop project proposals and conduct feasibility studies and appraisals for new projects.
- Asset Acquisition & Disposal: Lead the processes of identifying potential properties for acquisitions and/or disposals.
- Capital Improvements: Plan and provide oversight for major refurbishments and capital improvements to existing properties.
- Market Assessment: Perform market assessments of customer infrastructure requirements.
- Project Coordination: Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor project work.
- Team Leadership: Formulate project parameters and assign responsibilities to direct reports.
- Quality Control: Review project work and initiate necessary corrective actions.
- Equipment Oversight: Supervise and monitor the use of machinery and equipment.
- Progress Reporting: Report and present on project progress to Senior Management.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a construction project manager/supervisor.
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and SHE guidelines.
- Understanding of electrical, joinery, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read drawings, plans, and construction-related documents.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate and report effectively.
- Strong aptitude for problem-solving, analysis, and estimation.
- A Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required.
- Qualifications and experience in Project Management.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressively acquired construction management experience on civil infrastructure projects.
- Membership of a professional body is an added advantage.
