The opportunities:

Interesting, yet challenging opportunities have arisen to join the EY Professional Practice Group – Audit Technical for technically strong individuals with a passion for training, reading, research and analysis and a strong application of Auditing Standards.

Essential functions of the role:

Provide consultation support to the engagement teams on the application of various auditing and other standards to specific situations
Support engagement quality review processes by reviewing select risk areas on engagements
Provide guidance on the application of our audit methodology to teams
Support teams to implement current and new regulatory requirements as well as changes in laws, auditing and accounting standards and firm policies
Develop and implement learning plans
Internal and external training and advice on auditing standards, methodology, tools and laws, and regulations
Monitoring and supporting Sustainable Audit Quality initiatives for Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Malawi
Support teams with effective use of firm technology tools

Knowledge & skills requirement:

Technically strong with an excellent understanding of International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) and local laws and regulations
Analytical mindset with attention to detail and the ability to solve complex problems
Sound ability to assimilate and distill information
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentations
Flexibility and ability to deliver on several demands at once
Commercial and financial awareness of the impact of accounting decisions on other aspects of business

Qualifications and experience required:

CA (Z) or CA (SA) or equivalent1 – 3 years’ experience in a similar role and in a like-minded firm
Sound business, client, team and personal leadership skills including verbal communication and presentation skills
