Assistant/Senior Assistant Risk Officer
Qualifications
• First degree in Risk Management/Actuarial Sciences/Finance/Business Management, equivalent.
• A professional qualification In the disciplines of Risk Management/Actuarial Sciences/Accounting or equivalent would be an added advantage,
• Familiar with best practices In risk management such as the OECD guidelines Including the COBIT framework.
• At least five (5) years relevant experience.
• Strong conceptual and strategic thinking abilities.
• Analytical, logical thinker with good problem solving skills.
• High ethical standards.
• Excellent communication skills, including interpersonal, verbal and written.
• A relevant Master’s degree will be a further added advantage.
• Clean class 4 Driver’s license.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Risk Officer will be responsible for
• Being the primary champion of risk management in the University at both operational and strategic level.
• Formulating policy and strategy for risk management in the University
• Building a risk awareness culture within the University including education and training programmes
• Establishing risk management framework.
• Developing a complete system of recording, monitoring and communicating the University’s risk bank.
• Preparing reports on risk management tar University administration and Council.
• Selecting and managing risk management service providers such as insurance brokers
• Perform other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
