Key Responsibilities
- Advising relevant Branches and overseeing that laid down safety standards are being adhered to.
- Explaining the National Social Security Authority’s policies and relating statutes safety standards to employees as per statutory requirements and checking/enforcing adherence.
- Assessing and training staff on safety hazards and recommending control measures within workplaces.
- Monitoring and arranging for food handlers to undergo medical examinations in consultation with supervisor.
- Advising employees on safe handling and storage of flammable substances and attending within limits to spillage of corrosive acids.
- Demonstrating correct and proper use of protective clothing to employees.
- Promoting the setting up of safety committees and teaching employees on safety awareness.
- Assisting in carrying out safety audits system wide.
Requirements
- A minimum of five (5) GCE ‘O’ level passes at ‘C’ or better including Science, Mathematics and English Language.
- A Diploma in Environmental Health and be registered with the Environmental Health Professions Council.
- Completed the Occupational, Safety, Health and Environmental Management Course (OSHEMAC).
- Experience in Industrial Safety.
